Travelling To Riverfest

The annual Isle of Wight Riverfest takes place on Newport Quay, which runs alongside the historic Medina river and the Riverside Centre. It is accessed by foot and cycle from Quay Street, a short distance from Newport Bus Station. All buses head to Newport and details of Island Buses routes can be found here:

Riverfest is the sustainable transport event on the Isle of Wight. We urge visitors to drive less and see more. The Riverfest event does not provide any car parking. In fact the only public carpark on the Quay is turned into something useful for the day, a village of fun activities for all the family!

We ask that everyone who comes to Riverfest, walks, cycles, sails or uses public transport. By doing this we are reducing congestion and pollution and encouraging healthier lifestyles. There is parking in Newport town and at Seaclose Park, but we would ask that you try and carshare. Boats can access the River from the Solent, but check tide times.

Here is a map of Newport, showing the Quay, for those of you with satnav key in PO30 2QR and you will find the event.

For those traveling from the mainland, do take advantage of special offers, and split ticketing deals. A Railcard can be worth buying due to the discounts of up to 1/3 off on rail travel.

When buying a ticket to the Isle of Wight Riverfest, choose either a ticket to Ryde Esplanade or West Cowes, as regular buses travel to Newport Bus Station from these destinations.

For those traveling in the south of England, the Network card can be a brilliant bargain
