It is possible to get much of what you need for a new baby second-hand from adverts on social media or the National Childbirth Trust (NCT) sales.
The big issue is disposable nappies, lots of energy and water used to manufacture and transport them. Used once and then to landfill. Once there they will either sit in the ground for a thousand years or so, or biodegrade giving off harmful chemicals.
The local Real Nappy Network has a large range of nappies, which are easy to launder and dry quickly.
They are much cheaper than disposables and cut environmental pollution.
Disposable anything is not green, and please don’t put baby wipes down the loo, even if they say there are flushable.
