Running Man – gives romantic eco tale….

When a local charity wants to appeal to younger people what should they do? The answer is use ‘You Tube.’ That’s the view of the Footprint Trust’s Ray Harrington-Vail.

The Trust already uses the web and has thousands of hits a year. Its other main thrust of promotion has been through articles and adverts in the local media plus some leaflets.

“The problem with leaflets is that they are overused. We have too much information and thus many are thrown away without being read. Many young people like the internet and choose that as their main source of entertainment and for gathering information”

Said Ray from the Trust.

“We originally were going to have a cinema advert but this proved too expensive. We opted for You Tube as a way of getting to younger people who may not be aware of our message. The use of comedy was very important. The video looks like a advert for a forthcoming movie.”

“Working with Utility Films of Ventnor was a great experience and we feel our message has been helped by their expertise and film-making knowledge. We suggest other charities and businesses look at this medium,

It features local comedian and actress Hannah George. The promo is entitled ‘The Running Man.’ It features a love story – a romantic tale from the Isle of Wight. Could he love someone who kept on putting her foot in it? -Will it end in happiness or is it doomed to fail?

The promo is just over 2 minutes long and can be viewed at and search for “Wight Running Man”. Or click this link
